Hold and Secure Incident at École Lacombe Junior High School

Dear Parents and Guardians:  

I am emailing to inform you of a situation that occurred today at École Lacombe Junior High School. Earlier today, an individual who is not a student of our school entered school property and was observed banging on an exterior door while in possession of a weapon. School staff immediately contacted the police, who responded quickly to the situation.

As a precautionary measure, the school was placed momentarily in a Lock Down and then in a Hold and Secure once it was confirmed the individual was outside the building. A Hold and Secure means all students and staff remain safely inside the building while the situation is assessed and managed. No students were harmed. The police arrived promptly, apprehended the individual, and are now conducting a full investigation.

I understand that situations like this can be concerning, and I want to reassure you that the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Our staff and students followed emergency protocols effectively, and we are grateful for the swift response from law enforcement.
