Our school has a 25 minute reading period every day after lunch. During this time, students will read a self-selected text (novel, graphic novel, comic, magazine). The goal of this period is promote a love of reading and through mentoring, modelling, and direct instruction. Students are not permitted to use cell phones during this period, but e-readers that lack messaging features may be used.
