Canadian Dental Care Plan
The Government of Canada has recently launched the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) which aims to ease financial barriers to accessing oral health care for eligible Canadian residents who have an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000 and do not have access to dental coverage. The CDCP will cover a wide range of services to help keep teeth and gums healthy as well as prevent and treat oral health issues and diseases.
As you may already know, the CDCP is a federally delivered plan that is being rolled out across all provinces and territories. Applications are being accepted in phases, starting with seniors. Persons with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate and children under 18 will be able to apply online beginning June 1, 2024. All remaining eligible Canadian residents can apply in 2025. To qualify, applicants must meet the eligibility criteria.
